One team.
Expert advice and comprehensive care.

The Connecticut Center For ADHD brings together varying and expert clinical perspectives to address every aspect of the disorder:

  • Board-certified health care specialists concentrating in ADHD.
  • A special education consultant with more than 25 years of experience.
  • A board-certified psychiatrist.
  • An attorney specializing in educational and disability law.
All are skilled, highly trained professionals who take the time to listen, empathize and respond, while staying current with developments in ADHD diagnosis and treatment. As a result, they are exceptionally well-qualified to provide valuable insight on the condition and its implications for each patient. Our clinical team members collectively decide on the patient’s diagnosis, treatment plan, medication and follow up. To do this effectively, weekly meetings are held to review each case and discuss:
  • Patient history.
  • Results of all diagnostic tests.
  • Input from all relevant sources, i.e. the patient’s primary care physician, parents and school.
  • Diagnosis.
  • Proposed treatment plan.
  • Ongoing monitoring and coordination of care.
  • Potential legal issues that may require input, expertise and advocacy.
It is important to note that parents, primary care physicians and other professionals – including school personnel – represent a crucial part of our team methodology. Integrating input from those closest to the patient into case discussions enables us to better determine what is and is not working in terms of established treatment elements... and alter those elements as necessary to achieve the best possible results.
