Holter Monitoring

Holter monitors are used to determine if a patient is experiencing abnormal heart rhythms.

These monitors are worn continuously for 24 hours and are the best option for patients who experience symptoms on a daily basis.

When wearing a holter monitor:

  • Do not shower.
  • Go about your day as you normally would.
  • Keep a diary of activities during the recording time, noting relevant symptoms.

The monitor and diary must be returned to the same location where it was put on. Results are read and reported by Cardiology Associates of Central Connecticut (CACC).
