HOW SECURE IS MY DATA?

Your data is very secure. Data travels via a secure private tunnel using Secure Socket Layer (SSL), ensuring that your data is encrypted. It is stored in a data repository that uses 256-bit encryption. Your login occurs over SSL to make certain that your login credentials are also encrypted. If you use Facebook, Google, Yahoo, or a Windows Live ID, your username and password is still stored and maintained by those companies and is not stored in the portal. The patient portal simply receives an authentication token that verifies your identity and grants you access to your health record. If you create your own username and password using FMH Secure Login, your information is stored in an encrypted cloud storage table. Upon login, your password is checked against what is found in the table and your information will never be unencrypted.

The portal does provide you the ability to export your data in the event that you need to share it. Please keep in mind that the protection of the data once exported is your responsibility.

CAN A PARENT/GUARDIAN SET UP & MANAGE AN ACCOUNT FOR A CHILD/DEPENDENT?

Yes. If your child is under 13, you can set up and manage their account as a proxy. This proxy account will allow you to view and manage your child's or dependent's account. Between the ages of 13 and 18, we will continue to allow you access to view the account, but we will stop updating the account with information from current visits to protect patient confidentiality.

As an adult user of the patient portal you can assign Full Access or View-Only Access to another portal user under My Account > Preferences. Alternatively, adult patients can grant proxy access to their portal account to adult caretakers or guardians by filling out and signing the proxy access section of the myProHealth Registration Form.
