Vestibular & Balance Disorders

The vestibular system is the part of our body located in the inner ear that senses balance and equilibrium and is responsible for keeping us upright. Our vestibular system works with our eyes, body, and brain to make constant adjustments that help protect us from falling or losing our balance. At ProHealth Physical Therapy, our therapists have received specialized training to help address disorders of the inner ear that can lead to balance problems and dizziness. We work closely with physicians and specialists like otolaryngologists (ear, nose, and throat doctors) to determine the cause of dizziness or balance dysfunction so we can tailor our treatment to the individual. Our therapists perform guided treatment and instruction of exercises that help improve the function of our inner ear, eyes, and body that can help decrease dizziness and promote increased balance and stability.
