Welcome to Our Practice

Dr. Rothenberg has been treating patients in Avon and surrounding communities since 1978. In June 2009, we moved into our beautiful new office located at 8D Canal Court in Avon Park North. We are proud to have been part of ProHealth Physicians since its inception in 1996. ProHealth is Connecticut’s largest primary care group, melding old fashioned personal care with an innovative, leading-edge approach to medicine. 

Our office has changed over to electronic medical records, which will help us provide the highest standard of care. In our practice, we promise never to let technological advances interfere with the compassionate care that has become our trademark.

Our goal is to provide top quality, cutting edge care in a warm and caring environment- a true medical respite for all of our patients: infants and children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.

Statin Use and the Risk of Developing Diabetes.

Study confirms a link, but does the risk outweigh the benefits?

Cholesterol-lowering drugs known as statins are often prescribed to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attach and stroke. Yet, according to a new study, postmenopausal women who take statins appear to be at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes -  not only a serios condition in and of itself, but a leading risk factor for the very cardiovascular disease they were hoping to avert in the first place.
