CEO message to patients
March 18, 2020
To our dear patients,
The last couple of weeks have been extraordinary for all of us. It reminds me of the days following the 9/11 attacks. So much uncertainty. Was that it, or was it just the beginning? Who did this and why? The urge to help, do something … but what?
COVID-19, the global health threat caused by a new strain of the coronavirus, is different. We know the enemy, although we cannot see it. But as with 9/11, we’re taking strong steps.
After the initial shock, we started gathering information about the disease. We studied its behavior and started figuring out how to slow down its spread.
ProHealth Physicians began forming action plans when we first heard of the outbreak in China. With the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization, we are taking precautions to protect our patients, providers and staff.
Our COVID-19 team continues to monitor the situation. We update our response guidelines as better information becomes available. And every day, we become stronger.
These are trying times, and I know you are scared. I assure you this situation has our complete attention. We are blessed to have a superb team of people at ProHealth. All are devoted to providing the highest standards of care. And all are on full alert.
Please keep your heads up and spirits high. We are here for you, and we will get through this together.
With sincere gratitude for your support,
Benito A. Alvarez, MD, FACOG, MBA, JD, FACHE
