Have you heard about Vitamin N? It stands for nature, and studies show that it’s good for us.
Researchers have learned that people who spend time in nature have lower stress levels. They also have lower chances of getting a chronic disease like type 2 diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure.
Best of all, getting a little Vitamin N is easy:
- Go for a hike. It can be as simple as a stroll along a trail or something more difficult. Either way, it will do you good.
- Have a picnic. If you’re at work, eat lunch outside. You’ll go back to your desk feeling refreshed. On the weekend, head to a beautiful park or field.
- Take a walk in the park, and ask a friend or family member to join you. You’ll catch up and enjoy the added benefits of social interaction.
- Look outside. Studies show that simply noticing nature helps lower stress levels and improves mood. Putting a plant on your desk can do the same.
Finally, don’t forget to add a little nature to your meals. Make fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs a regular part of your diet. They’re delicious, healthy and beautiful.
